Hello and Welcome to my blog!
I have never blogged before, but I guess it never hurts to try something new at my age (50). :-)
Actually this blog was my niece's idea. I love to travel, but due to being on a fixed income (I am retired due to diability) and the cost of fuel, I am not able to do so.
I live alone here in AR where I have no friends or family around. My partner of 17 years left me for another last June. I also lost a very good friend, my Mother, and a women who was like my 2nd mother all in the span of 25 days.
Sadly, I have been sort of house bound for many months. For a person with itchy feet, this is a bad thing because it causes depression and can cause agoraphobia.
I have many health issues and cannot take medication. Like a lot of people, I have a bucket list and want to try and accomplish as much as I can before my time comes around or I can no longer get about. I was able to mark off my list 'Riding the Rails' as I rode the Amtrak for 45 days last year. Next is visiting as many of the National Parks I can drive to as well as meeting people that have become my friends on Facebook that I have never met along the way.
I am hoping that others would like to help me with this venture by donating, as well as living vicarioulsy following me in my ventures through blogging, pictures and maybe the occassional video.
Once I have the funds and I am able to fill up the fuel tank, we (as in I and all those that follow along) will be traveling in a 34' motorhome with a car in tow. My constant companions will be my dog Paika and my cat Kayla.
